Discarded

Watch the little child stumble
Across the wet silica sand
Lost in the sound of waves

Watch the dog-leashed-owners
Walk past with unseeing eyes
Lost in the daze of thoughts

Listen to her scream, remove
The plastic from your ears
Open your inured heart

Washed up like smoothed wood
Washed up like fractured glass
Washed up like a rubber flip-flop

She is a discarded item, atop
A pile of debris and seaweed
Salt white and hair strangled

This little doll has wooden chest
This little doll has glass for eyes
This little doll has rubber arms
